Phillip Island Cemetery Trust
There are many visitors to Phillip Island who are surprised by the beauty and natural tranquillity of our historic mid 19th century cemetery, nestled on the hill with magnificent glimpses of Western Port and beyond.
The picturesque white crushed stone driveway meanders through the beautiful wetlands and leads us passed the little wetland bridge accessing one of the many wetland islands, home of a variety of water birds, wallabies and other wildlife, and foreshadows the peace and tranquillity of what lies beyond the rural post and rail fence on the hill.
The Phillip Island Cemetery is the final resting place for the many pioneer families of the Island and has an abundance of largely intact Victorian and Edwardian monuments and headstones.
